EMDR Therapy 90-minute EMDR therapy sessions designed to help process distressing experiences, traumatic memories, and the beliefs and emotions connected to them. A complimentary 15-minute consultation is recommended before your first EMDR appointment.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that can help you process traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to affect how you feel, think, or respond in the present.
EMDR sessions are 90 minutes to allow enough time for preparation, processing, and grounding before the session ends. We will not jump straight into processing. Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, identifying what you would like to work on, and making sure you feel prepared and supported before beginning EMDR processing.
During processing, we use bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or alternating tapping, while working with memories, emotions, beliefs, and physical sensations connected to the experience.
If you're curious about EMDR or wondering whether it might be a good fit for you, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation where we can discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions, and talk about next steps.
